Dinner in the Dark

Several weeks ago we were scheduled to have dinner over at [livejournal.com profile] nonspecific 's house, and a big storm swept through the area. When we arrived, there was no power. But there was a grill, and there was tinfoil, and we had a great time despite the lack of electric current.

1. "Web of Hope" interactive art installation. Children and adults were encouraged to weave yarn, string, fabric and what have you into the structure. You could also write messages on pieces of tin and attach them. More of this later.

Working from past to present... hangin' with Olivia and Aaron 1

We finally got over to Olivia ([livejournal.com profile] hisbonnielass) and Aaron's ([livejournal.com profile] ezerick's) house for dinner Feb 29th, after having talked about it for several weeks. The rain was crazy that night, and the roads were dark and winding. We made it though, and it was very worthwhile. Dinner was excellent, the company was enjoyable, and the kids were plentiful. Kids? Yes.

Nonspecific photography

Fellow photographer [livejournal.com profile] nonspecific visited last night with her young one, and we had dinner and chatted and generally hung out. Naturally, having a new lens, I photographed the proceedings. Here's some highlights... I'll start with my favorite of the eve:

So we're watching "The Fifth Element"...

Mila Jovovich falls through the roof of Bruce Willis' flying cab. He fights to regain control in heavy traffic, then finally screeches to a halt.

Me: "How can you 'screech' in midair?"

Storm: "Dad, it's the future."

Misc impromptu weirdness

This happened in the car last weekend. Luckily I remembered my mp3 player has a voice recorder.
