I don't even bother deleting it anymore. Gmail deletes it after 30 days on a rolling basis.

on 2005-02-27 06:33 am (UTC)For example, I've received several emails (some internal) from a real estate firm, as well as a username/password confirmation from an online game website. My favorite so far is one titled "RE: Merit testing...", a response to an inquiry about (surprisingly) merit testing, which this university apparently uses to test job applicants. The responder essentially (and politely!) said that it was a stupid question - they're tests, you take them, our hiring people for whatever department look at them and let you know if you qualify.
I first found someone erroneously using my email when I signed in and found something like 3000 unread messages - all "return to sender," since someone had put my address as his reply-to. That one I made sure to clear up; the rest, I keep for amusement (and, in the case of the username/password, change my email out of the info on the site).

on 2005-02-27 01:26 pm (UTC)my hotmail account gets the brunt of the spam force, and the only way to catch it all there is to set the shit to exclusive, which is a royal pain the patoot.
burn hotmail, burn!

on 2005-02-27 02:49 pm (UTC)I've been resisiting doing away with the wildcard, it's so nice to be able to make up addresses on the fly when registering with sites and such, but I may have to move to specific addresses. Problem is, I don't recall everything I've created. :)

on 2005-03-01 05:32 pm (UTC)sometimes, i wonder if the spam that is sent is created by the gmail people to make it look as though their filter is really good...
