First Friday is when once a month Johnson City shuts down Main Street and there are open houses at the businesses, performers, and so on. I was wandering about with my camera for this one.

Not too long ago, a certain person who shall remain [livejournal.com profile] nonspecific was at our house, obstensively to retrieve her child, but really to hang out. In the process of hanging, as often happens, my camera found its way into my hand, and photos were taken. These are those photos. Plus a couple extras. :)

1. "Web of Hope" interactive art installation. Children and adults were encouraged to weave yarn, string, fabric and what have you into the structure. You could also write messages on pieces of tin and attach them. More of this later.

[livejournal.com profile] shirokarasu asked me to take pictures of he and his girlfriend, since they didn't have any. These are some of my favorites.

Roller Derby! An ex-coworker of mine helped form the team. These are from a practice session. The lighting conditions were very poor, it was not as bright as it looks in the photos. Best shutter speed I could get, even when pushing the ISO, was 1/50, which wasn't fast enough for the action in most cases. So, not sharp like I want. But it's still a lot of fun. :)

We finally got over to Olivia ([livejournal.com profile] hisbonnielass) and Aaron's ([livejournal.com profile] ezerick's) house for dinner Feb 29th, after having talked about it for several weeks. The rain was crazy that night, and the roads were dark and winding. We made it though, and it was very worthwhile. Dinner was excellent, the company was enjoyable, and the kids were plentiful. Kids? Yes.

1. Aaron!
