Storm kept waking up with fever nightmares last night, so moved some cushions from the couch next to the bed where I could hear her better. It was a long night, but amusing at times. At one point Storm woke up crying, and was still involved with whatever dream it was she was having, and kept pointing at Althaea saying "I don't want that in our car! I don't want that in our car!" Um... the nightgown? "NO!! THAT!!!". Althaea moved, the incriminating pointing finger followed.

This morning, pointing at each other and saying "YOU! Out of the car!!" sends us into fits of laughter.

Anyway, Storm barely slept, so I barely slept. She was scared of the dark so I had my reading lamp on all night. I spent most of the night rubbing her head, her hand, her arm or her back. She was calmer and less restless and fussy when I did that. Her temp was 103.6 under the arm around 4am or so. I got most of a cup of ginger/lemon green tea into her, and pumped it full of honey, which seemed to reduce her coughing. Sounded like one of those "dry throat tickle" coughs, not productive.

Anyway, this coffee just isn't working.

Well, Storm was in the hospital. We just couldn't get/keep enough fluids in the kid, and she was burning up. After several phone calls with the nurse hotlines, and talking with the doctor office, Althaea took her in. Lorelei and I went over a bit later after getting her a card and a stuffed kitty. They put an IV in her, ran some tests, and other than an elevated white blood cell count and being dehydrated, she was ok. She got some fluid in her, managed to pee, and her temp came down some. She's home now. Still grouchy, but hopefully past the danger zone.
