Valenstein's Monster

Happy Valentines Day everybody.

Alt and the kids made me an awesome box of chocolates. :) There are dark chocolate truffles (my favorite), truffles with real strawberry bits, white chocolate versions of above, and also truffle middles rolled in freeze dried strawberry dust.

You are probably wondering where one gets freeze dried strawberry dust. Apparently, one enlists the children to pick them out of boxes of Frosted Flakes with Real Berries^TM. This explains the HUGE bowl of frosted flakes that sat on the table for two days.

I took Althaea out for dinner last night, though it was really our Valentine's dinner. It was amusing... she took the high road, getting a cosmopolitan, salad and steak, while I took the low road, getting a mug of draft, ribs and fries. It was all tasty. It was really nice to get out without the kids for a while. We spent the whole time talking, and then rented movies to watch back at home. I'm proud of her, she made it almost a third of the way through the movie before she fell asleep. :)

Lorelei got a Valentine from a boy in school. Thing is, he carried it over from another classroom especially for her. She's all gooned now. :)
