My muscles have that tired ache that comes from spending your energy well. Pleasantly so. Saturday Lorelei and I met up with [livejournal.com profile] shirokarasu, [livejournal.com profile] fjorab_teke, and M at Starbucks, and then drove to Asheville to go hiking. We were actually northeast of Asheville... the hike was to Douglas Falls, off of the blue ridge parkway. The hike was supposedly 6 miles from the info I found, difficulty "strenuous", and estimated at 4 hours. We went at a moderate pace, crossed a number of cascades and streams, and generally had a great day. Due to M having to be back at a certain time, and the hike being longer than listed on the localhikes.com website (8 miles instead of 6), we had to turn around before getting to the falls, but it was still quite worthwhile. I didn't get many pictures, too busy walking. Back in Asheville, we hit Joe's Crab Shack before heading home. Mmmm, shrimp! :)

Sunday I took the kids to my parent's house and went swimming with them. Spent the better part of four hours tossing Lorelei up onto floats, giving Storm motorboat rides, and generally doing everything with at least one kid attached. After being hot most of Saturday, spending time in the cool water felt tremendous, just what the doctor ordered. But it was also very active, and I was worn out Sunday evening.

Unfortunately, OFIM, so I'm back at work today. I'm appreciating that I have a desk job today... rest for the body.

Do you have tomorrow evening open? Want to come to my parents' place again? :-)

If tomorrow doesn't work out, I'll have to see about another night.

I got a flashing cup there. Looked like a UFO landing when the waitress set it down (got a rita, don'tcha know). But don't use it if you've had too many, you might tip over.

I don't know if I'll be able to... Jonesborough Days is this weekend and there is much to get ready for.

Or if you're ever going to Johnson City to visit a friend, I can remind you to visit the folks in Asheville. ;)

not completely sure.
little ones like me a lot. i'm like rainbow brite, punky brewster and a never ending question answerer all in one, with neato shoes.

kids from 14 on think i'm the coolest. easy to see why.

but in between 8 am 14 i'm... maybe that's like the pop age. where everything is brittany spears and who has the cutest shorts with a little over the shoulder pink purse. the using hearts to dot i's age. there's nowhere to really relate. i went through an awkward time with my own sisters when they were in those few years. the last one is just coming out the other end of it, i hope she and i will get close soon.
not to say that i dislike kids at that age. kids are people too so i dislike them on a kid to kid basis. but they aren't sure what to make of me.

I suspect Lorelei (12) would glue herself to your side. She doesn't put much stock in the britany cult.
