Serious car problems!
May. 3rd, 2006 10:38 pmMy day kinda sucked, but this guy's *really* sucked.
I was working on my car in the bank parking lot. My dad and I suspected that the rotor needed replacing, so we started to take off the distributor cap, and were greeted by the scent of fried wiring. This confirmed our suspicions... or so I initially thought. The further the we took the screws out, the stronger the smell got. But finally, it took on an ominous strength... "Dad, I think something is burning!" I looked under the car, in the engine compartment, nothing... until I noticed smoke from behind me. I turned around. 20 feet from my parking space, a white Volvo had smoke pouring out of it's dash. Within 60 seconds, flames began to lick out of the dash. Somewhere around the 3 minute mark, I remembered I had my video camera in the car. :) Here's the clips that I took, reduced to 320x240 for your viewing sanity.
