These last two shots are a bit blurrier than they should be but I still like them. Oh, and it's the only shot I got of the one band member... he was too jumpy to photograph most of the time.

Are you sending them to the band? because some of them are pretty incredible.

Dunno that sending them to the band will do much. They won't buy them or license them from you, and they likely have thousands of photos that are just as good and iconic. Having said that, send them anyway (and send them to their publicist as well). If you're interested in shooting live music, it certainly wouldn't hurt to have a relationship that can be used again in the future.

Did you happen to see the band Boulder Acoustic Society at LEAF?

Oh! Also, send them to the organizers of the festival. They may actually use them for future promotions, website, or a media kit. Plus, it opens that relationship too. You've got a loaded camera and a professional attitude, and it can probably get you in to special events for free from now on.

Wow! Those are amazing shots!

Fishbone brings back some pretty painful memories--misspent youth in moshpits make for achey maturity.

Doc Martens to the face--never a good thing.

These are great. It looks like the lighting was in your favor!

What equipment were you using?

I guess I could, as sort of a "thank you".

Hardly... I got a lot of black shots where I mistimed the stage lights. I could only shoot during green, yellow, or white stage light flashes, because other colors didn't have enough energy to get the shutterspeed. I usually composed/focuses in one flash, then waited for another light to illuminate the scene and shoot. If the pose wasn't right, I would wait through enough light cycles to get the shot, or until the band member moved and I had to recompose. It was a pain in the a$$!

These were shot with a Canon 5d, and a Sigma 70-200mm ABCDEF (or some alphabet soup of letters that designates the model). Unfortunately no IS!
