So how long ago did I sell that house?

My realtor from when I sold the house just called. She asked... would I drive up there (more than an hour away) to start the gas fireplaces for the buyer, because the buyer couldn't figure it out?

It caught me so off guard, I let out a snort and an incredulous "NO, I WILL NOT!!"

What is this woman thinking?

I sent her an email with instructions on how to do it. I also told her that she was crossing the line by requesting me to do tasks for the buyer, and I did not want to be contacted any more.

Yeesh.

The realtor should have suggested they call the local heating & cooling guys or the gas company.

They probably should have asked for that information BEFORE the house was sold, so that they could pass it on to the new owners.

It would only make sense that if something comes as a feature of the house, potential owners should be told that they can get instructions from the agency on how to operate it, should they get the house.

You could have said:
a) For a charge of $50.00 per hour, I'll be happy to assist. (if you want to be boring)
or
b) I'd be happy to do a barter....I'll light their fire if they will drive here to scratch my ass at the next itchy occurance.
or
c) Sure sure sure...I'll be there in...oh...let's say April or so.

The list could go on and on but my brain is currently napping.

LOL.. yeah no kidding.. I didn't see any marriage contracts among our house-selling paperwork either... but..
I notice the guy we bought our house from still checks on the house at LEAST once a week.. when he stops in across the street to talk to his longtime neighbor friend.
I don't particularly like feeling "watched over" by this guy.
