That's probably because it's a bug in Internet Explorer 8, and doesn't appear in Firefox.

Are you clearing your private data when you shut down? You can look at it under the menu item Tools/Options/privacy tab. Generally a login is saved via cookie, so if you uncheck clearing cookies, you should be able to stay logged in.

that's weird, I haven't had that problem with FF. Maybe something went wrong during installation... I'm definitely not seeing any problems with login persistence.
