I understand what you all are going through. My dog Amber is the same way, she will curl up beside me on the couch and stay there until the storm is over. Such a baby but you got to love them.
there was a thunderclap so out of nowhere and loud today that it nearly made me pee on the floor. much less my poor morgan, who is terrified of storms.
I would actually be careful cuddling him in thunder. My mum was scarred on the face during a thunderstorm (or was it fireworks? I forget) when she was a child by the loving and very docile family dog - in his irrational terror, he did not realise that he was not scared of her but was scared of the noises and lashed out at her, actually taking the whole of her face in his mouth - she has a scar from one tooth on her chin and another in her opposite eyebrow. They were usually inseperable. He never forgave himself once (a second after biting) he realised what he had done (the reason that she was only so mildly injured). They were farm people and did not put him down for doing that (which is proabbly what would happen these days) and he was always completely loving towards her after that incident. Fear makes us all irrational...
