it was a cartoon that came on late evenings on Nickelodeon on cable. Really warped sense of humor. They stopped showing it here, I'm having withdrawals.
Jhonen Vasquez made his name with the extremely twisted goth fantasy "Johnny the Homicidal Maniac." What I expected to be a comic book that wallowed in its own self-loathing with nothing really important to say actually turned out to be a pretty phenomenal little miniseries that was so sick it was hysterically funny! It plays more like a sly commentary on the goth movement and mental illness, taking it to an extreme and oft-times hilarious level.
His cult status was immediately assured, and somehow he parlayed this into a Nickelodeon cartoon series called "Invader Zim." Naturally it was too edgy for Nick and, just like with Ren & Stimpy years ago, the show was canceled. Zim is very much like Johnny, but without all the blood, death, and bad words; therefore, Zim is extremely clever and funny and worth checking out. 'Nuff said.

Put to answer your question, no. At least, not that I'm aware of.
