Our most recent valuation, as of mid-July:

Now you'd think that with a valuation like that, somebody would be willing to invest a measly half million or so to get us going. That figure doesn't include revenues or the value of the data itself. We've got a senator calling us to offer a letter of recommendation. We've got SO MUCH going for us. All it will take is for one person to whip out their checkbook. *sigh*

Sorry if this has been covered before, but what is it that your company does?

it's an electronic medical records system (nothing new there) with a heavy dose of predictive bioinformatics. It's aimed at nursing homes, and alzheimer's units in particular. The plan is to monitor everything, automated when possible, with time stamps, with labwork, with drug dosages, etc. Gather a metric boatload of data, and then mine it for patterns that will allow us to predict at-risk situations and to see drug interactions, etc.

It turns every clinical setting into a research facility, because the data will be of sufficient quality and in a format condusive to analysis. We've already talked to an alzheimers research foundation, and they have written us a letter of intent, saying they plan to work with us.

That sounds really great. I wish I knew more about investing and investors -- where are the kinds of places you would expect to get investments from? Are there firms that look for medical companies to invest in? Or are individuals a better way to go -- venture capitalists, and such? Do you put an ad in the Wall Street Journal, JAMA, or what?
