~~Deux~~Machine ex machina

I was rather desperately (and hopelessly) looking at hard drives Saturday morning. I have only about 2 Gig left on my current system, which I can kill in one good photo shooting session. I've already blown away UT2004, a large chunk of mp3's, zim videos, etc. The remaining mp3's were probably going to have to be next if I wanted any space.

So I talk to my parents on Saturday, they just got back from the midwest, and Mom says "oh, your uncle sent a bag with some computer stuff in it for you". Yeah?? So I talk to Dad... "it says 120GB HDD external". COOL.

Got it working no prob. My system only has usb 1.1 though, which makes it slow, so I'm thinking of just taking the drive out and putting it internal for speed purposes. But still. Whew!!! Breathing room.

Weekend Report, the short version

WCG and his wife Paula visited from Maryland Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. I enjoyed meeting them. They were both very interesting folks, and I look forward to their return. I'll let Mel post more about it though.

Sunday around noon I took the kids out to get birthday presents for my mother, and then went out to dinner with them this eve.

Somewhere in between there, hacked up a solution to Mel's "Sample Bar Pack" option problem. Paypal will only let a product have two option sets, we needed three, so had to massage it. Works fine now though. Mel has been in a soap making blur.

All in all, a most enjoyable weekend full of lots of family and friends.
