Thanks. We went to the park, and as soon as Storm saw the lake she shed her shoes, dropped the flowers and feathers she had been picking up, and beelined for the water.

I like it...kind of soothing!

BTW, found some soap in our PO Box today....does she make you do any work on all of that?

Soothing was the need, so I was glad to find it there.

Storm was off playing in the lake... that was the pile she left behind as she headed for the water.

That picture strikes me as really sad ... wonderful image, though.

I'll put it in context for you then. We're walking along the lake, and Storm keeps asking if she can play in the water. No, not here, I explain. This entire shore is covered with stone to stabilize it, and it's jagged and slippery at the water's edge. I keep telling her "there's a sandy beach ahead". We finally round the bend, and there it is... we walk down the slope to within fifteen feet of the sand. She looks up at me and goes "Dad?" and I know the rest. I say "Just take off your shoes first." and she goes "Yay!" and in one motion sheds her shoes, drops the flowers and the feathers she is carrying, and beelines for the water. It wasn't sad at all.

Okay, that's awesome. 'Cause, y'know, when I see a pair of kid's shoes, my first thought is, "where's the kid??"
