misterxSo yesterday I went to the closest thing to an art supply store I know of around here, Michael's arts and crafts ("around here" still being an hour away). I've been wanting to do some drawing but there isn't a flat place here big enough to hold a 12x18 sheet of paper. So I wanted to get a portable work surface of some kind, and some pen cleaner, and some ink. If possible, I wanted to get a lightbox as my work surface, as it would make tracing designs so much easier.
As it turns out, they had a big after-xmas sale, and they were out of a lot of basic supplies. No pen cleaner, no BLACK INK (this still amazes me), no lightbox. But I did find a few nice colored inks I hadn't seen before, and a very nice drawing board that is stiff and lightweight (honeycomb core). So, cleaning the pens the long way buy letting them soak in multiple changes of soapy water. I think the 00 is dead, but the rest should be okay. I also got a new 12x16 bristol pad, and an 18x24 drawing pad. Yeah! I love doing this.
Later went over to the house, and started throwing out LOTS OF REALLY IMPORTANT STUFF, cleaning out the computer room. One of these days I'm going to need a cervical brush, and I'm not going to have it. Mel doesn't seem to understand this. I also threw out some 8-tracks... don't even know where I got those, I never had an 8-track player. Oh well, I don't have anywhere to keep it here, and I need to get the place looking good enough to sell.
Storm just ran through the living room, playing Power Puff girls. She yelled "Bad monkey! I'm going to spank you!". Man, those monkeys just never learn. ;)
