warm fleecy satisfaction
Dec. 20th, 2004 09:47 amThis cool old building sometimes resembles a cold old building. Not too bad, mind you, but I do have a huge window right behind my desk, and the thermometer I have sitting on the windowsill reports 49 deg F indoors this morning. The rest of the room is probably more like 65ish or so, but there is a waterfall of cold air coming off that window that goes right down my neck.
Last week, I brought a ceramic heater in to work to combat this. I inspected it carefully before bringing it, decided it was too choked with fiberglass dust to be safe (I had used it in the basement to dry things out prior to the shower project), and so took it apart and cleaned it, etc. Well, long story short, I think it was already burned out before I cleaned it. Plugged it in at work, nothing.
Today, however, I am prepared... cozy grey fleece pullover with high neck, a *new* space heater positioned below the window, aimed at my back... and a cup of Earl Grey. MMmmmm.... snuggly.
