Lack of content
Dec. 5th, 2005 08:05 amI think I must be battling the winter blues. I'm not finding much to point my lens at when I go out photographing. Yes, this is partially due to everything being dead and gray, but it's also harder to see what photos I find. I went out last night, first chance I've had to go picture taking in *five days*, and I could barely find anything to photograph. I had really wanted to go wandering on Buffalo Mountain, but the stupid forest service closes the park at random, during all times of the year. But especially as it gets colder out. Not icy cold, mind you. Once it starts hitting the upper 40's, one starts finding the gate locked more and more often. Well, the clouds were around the mountaintop yesterday, and I was looking forward to the pics that would make, but I was locked out, and by the time I could hike from the gate to the top, I would have lost daylight. So, I ended up wandering about at Winged Deer down by the river. I found some black locust trees with nasty thorns, got a few shots of those. I found a tattered bed roll stuffed into a concrete pipe, just across the river from a four story mansion with a huge deck that goes down to the water. I wonder what one thinks, sleeping in the cold, looking at those lights from across the river. Not much of a photo opportunity though, so I left it alone. Then took some pictures of a tree reflected in a puddle. I have no idea if any of these will turn out.
Anyway, this is the closest thing I can muster to a "state of the misterx" post.
