The triple mini-update

misterx1. Lorelei and her friends got chased by a couple rottweilers yesterday, the same rottweilers that had chased them up on top of a truck two days ago, the same ones we called animal control about. The kids got away by climbing a rock cliff near the railroad tracks, then called for help on their cellphones, because they were stuck. They had to be lowered down on ropes by the fire dept. I was at work during all this, didn't find out until afterwards. No word yet if the dogs have been taken from their owner (he had them back in the fenced yard by the time the police came). But Shiro and I will be putting on leather jackets and talking a walk in the area, see if anything escapes the fence. If something does, it won't be a problem any more.
2. The tipsy cake came out freaking awesome. The trick is it has to age about 48 hours before serving. During the party, the alcohol was not dispersed enough in the cake, and there were potent "hot spots" that make one exclaim WOW. 24 hour hours later though it was nicely spread throughout, and was wonderful and mellow and flavorful. If anyone is intereted, I'll put together a formal recipe.
3. Got most of the presents wrapped last night. :) Just going to do some stocking stuffer shopping today, and maybe take the kids to a movie.
