Moving Shirokarasu
Jan. 2nd, 2006 11:53 pmThe majority of the day was spent helping to move
shirokarasu to safer living quarters. Shiro's roommate M, has allegedly nutso girlfriend J, who allegedly has been getting flagrantly nutso, culminating in J allegedly threatening Shiro with a knife. Yes, time to move. Following a quick apartment search, Shiro located some new digs, and I was present at the lease signing. Nice place, out in the country, nice mountains to look at. Anyway. M is nuts for staying, but that's his problem.
Good lord it was raining this morning.
There wasn't much boxed up, but there were big items to move so we went with that. For the first trip, I crammed almost the entirely of a queen waterbed into my Geo Metro, plus a shelving unit, plus a few misc things. For this I was dubbed "The Packmaster", in charge of spatial cargo relations. We also filled a small station wagon (excuse me, four door sport hatchback *snicker*) which we sent as an envoy to Elizabethton, and Shiro's small two-door. By the time we unpacked, we all looked like drown rats, and my leather jacket had tripled in weight. (ref pic post from earlier today for action driving shot).
I stayed through a second pack/unpack, and started helping with the third load, but had to retreat to have dinner with the lovely
melanie and child unit Storm. Storm's homework and shower rituals were fulfilled. I fixed a storage shelf that attacked Melanie today, but during the process she was attacked by a jar of sourdough starter. What a mess! Soon after, Shiro came over to borrow internet access (since we disassembled his computer). General hanging around then occured. Then it ceased, as he had to go.
Around 10, we watched Four Rooms. If you have not seen it, you must. I just got the DVD for Xmas, and while I recalled it as being hilarious, I feared my impression was due to an altered mental state during the first viewing. My fears have been layed to rest... we laughed our asses off.
And that brings us to now. I now made a rambling post, and realized it was probably time to go to bed. So I did. G'nite.
