Using a slightly faster shutter speed, about 1/2 a sec, the trails of individual bubbles took on the appearance of tendrils or perhaps lightning.

BTW, whitewater is white because it is filled with millions of tiny bubbles. Immerse yourself in it, and it fizzes. Not like a hot tub. Like alka-seltzer. It's cool. :)

I really like this one. You see a lot of photos of peaceful "smoothed out" water, and mine always seem to be of "frozen" water (fast shutter speed) because I don't usually have a tripod on hand. This one has a nice active quality to it.

In your peaceful smoothed out water pics, how long an exposure time do you usually use?

anywhere from one to ten seconds usually.

I wanted the focus to be on the shaps in the water on this one, so I went b/w.

Glad you like them :)

I don't know if a 4:3 crop would work so well. You'd have to lop it off the left hand side, but that would make the bottom bubble tendril thing almost centered, which would throw the aesthetics off. (imo)

This is so beautiful. Once I'm back in the US, I'm going to go to your website and buy art for my new place. Thank for posting it, it brightened my mood.

then nope, but your way sounds fun too. :) I learned it going down the Nantahala in NC in an inflatable kayak ("rubber duckie")

sounds fun
Wilson's creek- I went up there the summer of my senior year and hiked back to a place where they don't allow swimmers. It was pretty awesome.
I DID get a nasty cold though- that water NEVER warms up
