The disappearing evening trick

shirokarasu's kids so they could sleep over. Drove them by the shop so Storm could quit turning inside out (which didn't really work btw, she's too wound up), then from the shop to here. Jym arrived at my house just minutes after I did, and Melanie shortly after that. Jym had brought wine, so we ate dinner and then had some wine while we watched TV, talked, looked at each other's latest photography, etc. Jym eventually had to go home, and soon it was "try to get a birthday-excited child to go to bed time". It took some time but eventually the feat was accomplished. Mel was worn out, and was snoring on the couch within a half hour. I went in the bedroom and wrapped all the presents, eventually finishing with the post from early this morning.
On a side note, Melanie has made a great new product she's calling "Mr. Fixit Skin Balm". I love the scent. It uses elder flowers, patchouli leaf, lavendar leaf and essential oils of tea tree, cypress, clary sage, myrrh, blue tansy, and red thyme. Which probably gives you no idea what it smells like unless you're a scent freak, but trust me, it's yummy. It's a heady, wonderfully complex scent, spicy and slightly sweet, somehow earthy, with bright notes that would make me guess it contained lemon verbana (I am told that comes from the elder flower). Anyway. It's good stuff. It comes in a 1"x4" rount tin, and a little goes a long way. It melts with your body heat as you rub it in, releasing the fragrances even more, leaving your skin somewhat slippery with a suntan lotion-like sheen. All of which is besides the point. The point is that I think she is missing this product's true purpose. She needs to call it "Mel's Sex Wax".
