Given the recent news that AT&T has let the NSA attach monitoring equipment to the backbone of the internet for the *wholesale* monitoring of internet backbone traffic:

I think we need to decided what "AT&T" really stands for.

But seriously folks, what are we going to do about this shiite? I think there is the potential for the DOJ to sweep in and declare all the evidence in the case as top secret, and just bury the thing.

I have a hard time getting excited about this, what the heck is the government going to do with the knowledge that 90% of Internet users are downloading porn, and the other 10% are saying things like "SRSLY MAI BF IS TOALY K001" or "All your tardis are belong to us."

Doing this breaks lots of laws, and represents the administration doing an end run around congress and the constitution. If you don't know how government can abuse power, go look at the history books. And if you don't see the dangers of the administration deciding is above the laws, congress and the constitution, I can't help you.
