Study links guns and hormones in men
"The students were seated, one at a time, at a table in a bare room. On the table were pieces of paper and either the board game Mouse Trap or a large handgun. Their instructions: Take apart the game or the gun and write directions for assembly and disassembly."

Interesting article. There was also an article there about smart guns and how they will only work for authorized users based on physical characteristics including how they squeeze and hold the gun. I'm curious if they are accounting for stress in the identification.

BTW, thanks for the beautiful pictures you often post. They're quite good.

I have my doubts about the smart gun technologies. Simply because if I ever reaaallly need it, that would be a lousy time for the program to fail.

Talk about "blue screen of death".

Yeah, that'd be a REALLY bad time to have technology fail.

Well, I'm pondering........for us WOMEN that would rather choose a hand gun over a game, what exactly that means for us. Does that mean we have more testosterone than the usual female? Really. I'm curious. What do you think?

Did you read the article? The men didn't get to choose, they were given one or the other. But the men that were given the gun had higher testosterone levels, and had different subsequent behaviors, than the mousetrap group.

I did read the article, I just interpreted it differently. Sorry, I must have misunderstood.

It raises interesting implications though. Does holding a gun in fact make me more studly? Does a bigger gun make me even more studly than that?

I actually interpreted the article the same way. I thought it said that the men went into the room and on the table was both the game and the gun and they decided and proceeded. Thinking on it though, that would also affect the results as those that are more predisposed to act a certain way may choose the gun instead.
