You Can Tell Alot About My Afternoon By Looking At My Vacuum
Storm's room was beyond the point of normal "kid cleaning"... she could clean it, and it would explode back onto the floor by evening. It was making my brain cringe every time I looked at it. It was in need of reorganization, so I offered to help her clean. THREE full kitchen trash bags later, the floor was clear, and the piles of dolls and ponies and fairies each had their own drawer. I got out the vacuum to finish the job. It is one of these http://www.ivacuumetc.com/storeimages/dc07bl.jpg ... it has a clear area where the dirt and stuff collects. Very entertaining to watch it swirl around. Anyway. After a half hour of watching Storm dirt in a cyclone, it occurred to me that you could probably tell which rooms I vacuumed and in which order by looking at the sediment in the bin. Welcome to DSI 101. (Dyson Sediment Investigation)
1. If contains equal parts glitter and dried ground flowers, it came from Storm's room.
2. If it contains a higher than average percentage of foundation powder, chip crumbs, angsty notes and broken plastic (from me stepping on the crap she leaves all over her floor), it came from Lorelei's room.
3. Dog hair and tracked in grass clippings... living room.
4. The kitchen is a bit hard to tell from the living room, as it will also contain dog hair and grass clippings (tracked in from the side door), but the kitchen will be unique in the amount of splenda packet corners and stale cheerios in the mix.
5. If you find seed beads, photo corner backings, clothing tags, and misc art supplies... it came from my bedroom.
