Dear SETI...
Please understand that in the eyes of the public there is ONLY ONE MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT that you can make... namely, that you have detected signals indicating intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. Anything else is just a press release. Everyone I know was disappointed if not disgruntled to find out what you had to say today.
To recap... the use of "Major Announcement" may only be applied to finding evidence of e.t. life. Thank you.
