I do believe I photographed a Peregrine Falcon in flight today. It was very high, so the pictures aren't very detailed, but from the feather patterns, broad chest and short beak, I think I have a peregrine.
The ravens were very playful and somewhat cooperative on Grandfather Mountain today. At one point I was looking off into the distance, and heard a rustling behind me, and turned to find one hanging in the air almost within arm's reach. I stayed out on this one rocky point for three hours... every time I would turn to go (the temperature was dropping and I was in a t-shirt), I would hear another raven call, and I would wait for it. I only gave up when it started raining.
Various other misc shots today, I'm still going through them (about 350 shots). It was a good day.
