Several months ago I found a small round convex mirror... probably fell off a trucker's side mirror or something... and stuck it in my car for later photographic use. I had forgotten about it, until I stumbled on it last weekend...

too bad I moved for this one, I like the star effect

Error in identifying curvature type fixed thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dariens_haircut. Apparently I don't know my ass from a concave indentation in the ground.

that last is beautiful, though my faves are the first one (very Escher-like) and the fourth.

Now see - this is what makes you a potentially great photographer, instead of just a really good one. Because you do stuff like this and you aren't afraid to take chances and play with it. I've never once seen a mundane image of yours or one where you can't feel the love you had for the subject or the process or whatever. Your stuff is very potent. So that's why I hope you do this forever. Lots of people take pictures but I really love yours, because how you do it is rare.

(I found the flower in the icon and took the picture, but I don't have good equipment - but that's the sort of thing I'd like to do as well, so in addition to entertaining me, you're teaching me. Thank you!)

Sorry, I had to.
A concave mirror would invert and magnify the image.
Just the opposite of a lens.

very cool.

that would be a cool side project to get people involved in. maybe a livejournal community where everyone uses a concave mirror and posts photos from the results? thatd be cool. :)
