shirokarasu and I set out today to do some photography. Parking the car, we walked along some railroad tracks, crossed a trestle, had to run for it when a train came, finally venturing into an abandoned mine. We also saw some vultures while in transit.

I'm surprised at the number who liked the train pic, it's making me reexamine it. But yeah, the vulture one came out cool. I shopped it a little but I liked the effect too much to not post.

I don't usually do effects like that but I had been fooling around with the pic, stumbled upon the look, and liked it so much I decided to leave it like that. I want a big print of it for myself. :)

It was pretty easy... tweaked contrast so background was mostly white. Duplicated layer, applied a vertical blur. Darkened the result slightly. Then set the layer blend mode to either darken or multiply (too lazy to open the file right now) and adjusted opacity.
