I've never done anything on ebay except a buy-now transaction, but today decided I would learn how to sell stuff on there. I figured i'd start by selling some of the knives i used to collect. Some should fetch $200+. So I set out to take product pictures. Some of these have been sitting in boxes for quite a while, and this one fiskars field knife had something on the blade. I get out my trusty wire brush and start scrubbing the blade.

For the first time ever in my life, I slipped while handling a knife. I keep all my blades shaving sharp (literally, that's how I test the edge) and as a result cut the living shit out of my index finger.

I've got it pressure wrapped to try and stop the bleeding. I dont need no steenkin doctor. I'm going to superglue it.

/wheeeeeee...

i think it's becoming evident that you need to be surrounded by bubble wrap in order to keep you safe.

oh, jeez, I'm cringing just thinking about it!

I did that once slicing open a package with a scissor blade. Cut right through my index finger. It wouldn't stop bleeding, so I went to emergency, sat around for two hours, they told me I could have stitches if I "wanted" them -- um, no thanks -- and put a bandaid on it. Didn't even wash off the blood. Luckily I had insurance, because that little trip cost over a thousand dollars. So, good move on avoiding the doctors.

Now, though, where it healed it's numb. I guess the nerves didn't reconnect.

anyway, I guess I can truly say "I feel your pain."

i'm a tad worried that the end of my finger feels freezing cold. i'm assuming because it's not getting the blood it should be.

Um, yeah, possibly. But one should probably bear in mind that that would be a bad thing. They have a name for that. Gangrene or somesuch.

Maybe it's just shock or nerve damage. Optimally, it's just your brain doing stupid brain tricks. My brain does stuff like that. My brain is pretty sadistic.

Actually I am. Here's the text of the listing:

Dangerous Fiskars Butterfly Knife

Watch Out! You are bidding on a Fiskars butterfly knife with an attitude. This knife is 8 1/4" overall when open with a 3 3/4" hungry blade. The handles are red blood-proof plastic of some sort, with a locking latch at one end. I have never before slipped with a knife in my 38 years on earth, but when I went to polish this knife for the pictures today I did slip and cut the living daylights out of my index finger. I had to super-glue the skin back together so it would quit bleeding. So I can testify personally and with four-part harmony that this knife sports a DANDY edge. I think this would make a good tackle-box knife. Or buy it and throw it in the lake, I don't care, I don't want it anymore. The knife is unpolished in the pictures below, for obvious reasons.

Here's a picture of my finger if you think I'm kidding: http://www.vaughnsphotoart.com/miscimg/ow2.jpg

yikes looks painful. My little brother did something similar and essentially scliced off the tip of hit finger (1/8 of an inch if that) and cut a deep gash into his thumb.
I collect knives so I may be interested in the link to your auctions.

I've got a few more items that should be coming online soon. They're showing in my listings but aren't showing up in searches yet.

There will be 11 items when they are all showing.

I'm a bit worried you're risking tendon damage with your home repair. Pay attention to how it feels, and if it goes wrong, please do see a doctor.
