I found a directory of photos I had forgotten to edit from this summer. This one creature looks particularly like something from the movie Alien.

It's a flower Hammock spider. It has a really cool thing about it: like an octopus or chameleon, it can change some of the pale areas to a pastel similar to the background it is on.

And in the early spring, the hatchligs gossamer can glow l i ke gold in the sunlight.

Do you need the genus and species?
