I originally posted this back in November (that lovely haze is a snow coming in) but I reedited the RAW file in Adobe Lightroom and I think I like this version better.

A friend and I rode our motorcycles over a major section of the Blue Ridge Parkway one fall, and it was tremendous. It's a gorgeous route.

I love the way the fog is used to soften up the image.

It was there in real life (see the original pic which I reposted to this thread) but the edit really brings it out as a factor in the photo.

When I first edited I lost a lot of the color in the snow haze (see this thread for the original pic, I reposted it). This edit drops the brightness in the highlights a bit and recovers the tonality of the sky.

the original bears no comparison to this newer version. they feel like two different shots completely. the feel you get and the atmosphere present in each of the photos is so different. thanks for pointing me to the old version.

This is why I like to go back and look at old photos every now and then. Sometimes I realize I missed the boat. :)
