on 2007-05-18 12:21 am (UTC)This reminds me of the case I did jury duty on a few years ago. The dude stole stuff from one house, and when he saw/heard the police coming he scrambled over the yard's 6' fence into the neighbor's yard, which was enclosed and locked. The police found him in the locked, enclosed yard, with the bag of stolen stuff at his feet, hands in the air, going, "I didn't do it!!" And his lawyer tried to sell this to us as that there wasn't proof he had the stuff. Like, what, he was just strolling through the gated yards when he stumbled upon a bag of stolen goods?
