Falling behind on the posting, that is. I've been fighting with my brain somewhat, which tends to make me hide in dark corners and shun the light. Really not enjoying this, it gets old after a while. At least I know what is going on these days. But, on the plus side, it's birthday month for nearly everyone in my family, so there are lots of joyous parties and tidings to attend to. Much business abounds.

Anyway, I am getting a backlog of photos to post again, I must have a mental block. Any suggestions on what to do when this happens? What do you do?

When the undone stuff gets too unmanageable, and my brain goes into fight or flight mode, I give up and go for a walk and realize that none of it really matters enough to be stressed about. "Civilization is a limitless multiplication of unnecessary necessaries" Mark Twain said, and it's good to be reminded that all we are is dust in the wind. So I try to enjoy some of the tasks of civilization I've appointed myself -- for you it might be posting photos -- and realize that it's voluntary, not necessary. That if I did nothing more than sit, like a cat, and enjoy the sun and the breeze, that would be ENOUGH. And I would be ENOUGH.

Granted :-) I don't accomplish much that's visible to the naked eye this way. :-) But I wasn't doing it anyway when I was stressing about it. :-)

Hmmm... Have anxiety and not touch it, including extra fancy cool software people give you that would make your job easier but you can't seem to find the time to even look at it? Wait, did you want a solution here?

If it's something to do with my writing, I find something to read that I like. That usually motivates me. Maybe it sparks a certain desire to compete.

interesting solution. i'm not competitive per se, but reading about something I want to try (like in one of the books about photography i purchased recently) does have the same inspiring effect on me.

What I usually do after trying to make myself write something and nothing happening is switch to a different topic and see if I can write about that. If after awhile I cannot write about anything, I say screw it and find something else to do until mental blockage passes.

Try emptying your head and looking at things from a new perspective?

Personally, no matter what you do with the photos, I am sure they will be great. ^_^

i find using my lensbaby lens (frankenlens, i call it) is a good way to shake a creative funk. i'm just not communicating with others, or posting what i shoot, which is slightly different. withdrawing I guess you'd call it.

Maybe you just need some time to relax? Get away from things for just a bit and just chill out? Get centered.
