Went shopping today for clothes. I picked up:
3 pairs of pants
1 pair of jeans
6 long sleeve shirts
2 short sleeve shirts
2 pairs of slacks for Mel
2 pairs of jeans for Storm
1 dress for Storm
Total: $39.50
Thrift stores rock. :)
Here: have some wintry weeds...

on 2009-01-11 02:25 am (UTC)I went to one little bitty one that benefitted a small orphanage here in Kentucky. It burned to the ground one night about 3 months ago and I was heartbroken... I'd found so much STUFF there!(and lets face it- I FILLED the trunk and back seat of a lincoln town car with clothes, toys and books all for less than $50.(yes, nickel shirts for kids, nickel jeans for kids, shoes, I even got a glider footstool thrown in.)They had dishes when we needed dishes, they managed to find things we needed and contacted us.(It seemed they had a little list of people who needed items or wanted items. They'd call the people who NEEDED first and the people who just wanted to acquire cheap antiques were called after the needy people were dealt with)
I enjoyed the store and had volunteered a couple of hours when the elderly couple who were minding the store had a minor emergency and didn't want to close.(I was there, I was free and I was looking to buy. I offered to keep it open for them and kept a record of transactions, only two, just about $3, but it was $3 that went to orphaned disabled kids. And THAT is why I went to THAT thrift store and not some others.)
BTW, got a car at auction Thursday.

on 2009-01-13 11:50 pm (UTC)Ok, so I want that wintery weeds in 12x18 and I also want another picture I have been thinking about for what feels like years--Flower with Moss. Now I can find the flower with moss on the site but not the wintery weeds (unless I'm not looking in the right place). So how should we go about this? I just tell you and send you the dough via Paypal? Or you want me to order via the site?
