In the latest Xmen movie, what the hell was Gambit's mutant power supposed to be? He was just sort of ninja'ing around, laying smackdowns with a deck of cards, and flying with a stick. It was very unclear. Super-gambling, I got. The rest was vague.

I believe it was supposed to be telekinesis.

According to the description on Wikipedia's page on the movie: "A Cajun thief who has the ability to charge any object he touches with kinetic energy, forcing it to explode. The size of the object determines the magnitude of the resulting explosion. He is also skilled in the use of a staff, happens to be very agile, and durable enough to take Wolverine's elbow to his face and return to fight moments later."

Jeez, telekinesis? Isn't that a bit generic for a mutant? Maybe just give him power over cajun spices or something. Let him teleport crawfish into any situation. Super bayou breath.

And that is one rockin' icon, if I may say so.

Yes, it is pretty generic. It always seemed to me that the main appeal of his character was sheer smarm. But like you said, I think he would be far more appealing if he could summon a good alligator Étouffée out of thin air.

And thank you! That's lil' old me, bustin' out all over in my corseted glory. 8)

Gambit's power is telekinesis. He is known for gambling and being abit of a card shark, so he usually uses decks of cards when he fights.

He "charges" cards and other small objects with some form of energy that explodes if they hit something he throws them at. At least that's what I remember from the comic books.

I'm pissed off at the whole lack of an accent and the lack of his catch-phrase thing.

You can't have a Wolverine without "Bub" and you can't have a Gambit without "Mon ami". :/
