Aside from owing some kids a new swing or two, several quarts of gasoline and an ignition source is an efficient way to get rid of a swarm of rogue bees.

on 2006-12-29 06:16 pm (UTC)His being praised as what "every man should aspire to be" turned my stomach.
The pathetic self-aggrandizing ego of MAN (and sometimes woman) kind, coupled with the need to destroy, never fails to grieve and infuriate me.
Why is it this way? Why do guys have to KILL things?
Or, if one "has not choice"(to protect children from bee stings, blah blah), why rejoice in it?

on 2006-12-29 06:54 pm (UTC)In my case, I kill bees and wasps because I don't want my family to get stung, and the insects don't go somewhere else if ask them nicely. They don't even respond to harsh words. So, chemical measures are usually required. I kill mosquitoes too. And ants, roaches, and fleas.
I don't think what you are interpreting as chest pounding was derived from these men feeling like they had triumphed over greater odds, or an enemy combatant... that was not the point of the post. That use of language was dramatic. The point of the post was this... there was a problem to be solved, it was solved via the use of excess gasoline and large fireballs, and that's *funny*.
